Phoenix_Yamato is/was a friend of theirs and posted it here. Anyway, why do we care about something so pathetic?

| I have yet to encounter these "Cross-Ride" units yet, and I'm a little uncertain if they are a good thing or not. | |

If you mean are they viable competitively? If so the answer is yes, Cross-rides allow for much easier blocks of RG attacks, and sometimes even VG attacks. This leads to an a decrease in the pressure applied by the opponent, which allows you to come out ahead in card advantage, which is due to this decease in needed shields.

| To my general knowedge, from what I gather about Cross-Rides at the moment is that cards like Knight of Silence, Gallatin could be considdered a Cross-Ride in my eyes. unless it's just his unique abillity about having Blaster Blade in the soul pile. | |

| I'll try to sum it up. Cross-rides are units that gain a certain amount of power on both turns for having certain units in the soul. For almost all of them, this is a 11k vanguard that becomes 13k when it's previous "form" is in the soul. Current English examples include Dragonic Overlord The End, Phantom Blaster Overlord, and Majesty Lord Blaster. Majesty Lord Blaster is a minor exception, requiring 2 units and going from 10k to 12k. Before cross-rides, there was a very clear pattern for Grade 3 vanguards: 10k power or 11k power. Because guarding come in multiples of 5k, the optimal way to structure your field is to make columns that total to 15k and 16k power, respectively. For the sake of simplicity we're just going to consider 16k columns and 11k vanguards from here on. 16k forces a 10k guard from an 11k vanguard. If you can hit 21k you can force a 15k guard but this isn't common to every clan. There are many different ways you can make 16k easily: 10k vanilla Grade 2 with 6k booster, 9k Grade 2 with 7k booster, etc. What cross-rides do is allow you to have 13k on the defending turn. This means the opponent now has to make 18k columns to force 10k shield, and 23k is generally not going to ever happen. 18k generally needs power columns with little room for clan gimmicks. 10k vanilla Grade 2 with 8k vanilla booster. 12k attacker with 6k+ booster. Any attacker with 9k or less is generally useless without 9k+ boosters. But one of the better ways to do so is to play a cross-ride deck yourself. Your clan doesn't have one? You're no longer viable. The concept of a vanguard with more than 11k on the defending turn isn't new (or rather, isn't unique after the fact). Take Take Knight of Fury, Agravain for example. For the price of (megablast), he can become 15k on the opposing turn. Pretty nuts. But you need to be at 5 damage to do so, and Gold Paladins have very few ways of reliably generating soul quickly. Cross-rides get their 13k defense for no cost by turn 4 in 7/10 games on average. Dragonic Overlord The End also has a particularly nasty skill on top of that. And in the 3/10 games you don't get that 13k? It's still 11k. The price for failure in this strategy is very low. | |

It's actually a quite a bit less than this ^ ^ Anywho, also to define a Cross-Ride is generally when a unit gains a static +2K power bump when certain unit(s) are in the soul. Majesty Lord Blaster, Dragonic Overlord the End, and Peanut Butter Overlord all have this skill with their respective lower grade and previous forms. So no, Gallatin is not a Cross-Ride, it is just a Vanilla unit.

| Derr, that makes a little more sense.
But yeahno, Gancelot does not gain the static boost that defines a Cross-RIde and makes them so scary.

| That's the average chance you'll have ride a Grade 3 you run 4 of by turn 3?

And I very clearly 'see by turn 4' written in his post, so...

| Should say "in a given game" because that's only the chance of securing a Hamburger-Time. | |

| Yes, securing it, exactly. I was commenting on how riding it by turn 4 and getting Cross-Ride skill off is just a bit less. | |
