PostSubject: Enigman Rain dillema   2013-05-03, 20:22

I've recently build an Enigman Rain deck, similar to the one posted on the blog. sometimes I couldn't decide what to do,making me thinking way too much and ended up misplaying. my dllema is on deciding which combo to use on this following field setup
Grander Rain Miracle Beauty
Daisy Laurel Daisy

sholuld I:
-attack with the 2 rear columns first to activate Rain's skill then atk with VG which has a chance of stand trigger and Rain's on-hit skill
or
-attack with VG column, if it hits then activate Laurel's skill to stand the VG again, netting double twin drive

Second question....should Laurel be placed behind VG or RG? if RG should it be behind Miracle Beauty or the other RG?
Thanks heaps in advance

This is a tough one, mainly because I feel that Laurel benefits most off of Critical triggers, while beauty and rain work more off of stands. My advice for the first question would be to hit with the rearguards first then to bank on a stand trigger, and to probably remove laurel.

As for the second question I would suggest putting Laurel behind a RG column, Your VG attack needs a good boost to have a chance to get in and to get laurel to work in the first place, this way even if the VG attack doesn't work he can still boost the RG column for something.

This is my problem with Rain as well. I want it to work so bad, but I dunno just how to get it to work.

If I attack with Grander to turn on Rain, then I can't get Laurel off.
If I attack with my VG first, my Stands go to waste.

Maybe there is something glaringly obvious that I am missing, or I just plain don't know how to play the deck most efficiently (read: correctly).

If you read Alice Dimensional Police article, she suggest replacing Laurel with Speedster from Set 8 in Enigman Rain build, so you can concentrate more on Rain's skill.

Also, if you put Laurel in, you would have notice this section.

3 Commander Laurel. Avoid riding if possible. Keep extras in hand if the opponent has a rear-guard killing deck. If not, guard with them. You don't require him to use your Rain+Beauty combo in this deck, in fact he can hinder it by putting all eggs in one basket and making the opponent want to guard the vanguard. But for times when Rain isn't live or you don't have Beauty, Laurel is your backup. Either one can be used for devastation.

So that means if you have Miracle Beauty on field, then you don't use Laurel skill. If you don't have Beauty on field, then use Laurel.

That's my issue hehe darn Laurel. Gonna give the deck a couple of more shots now and right this time.

So, in order of priority,
MB on RG -> attack with rear guards first and hope for stand trigger or activating rain's skill
Rain's live -> attack with RG first
Neither MB or Rain's skill live -> then we use laurel's as backup to hopefully get a trigger to re-stand rain with activated skill
is that mindset correct?

So, definitly I should put laurel behind RG then?

Also, at the moment, since I don't have BT08 yet, can I replace Laurel with Dancing Wolf? or even Cosmo Roar? as I think Cosmo Roar is more beneficial than Speedster, as cosmo roar can be used every turn

while that may be true, neither Miracle Beauty nor Enigman Rain specify that what they stand HAS to be DP. the only issues you'd have putting Dancing Wolf in would be that you might not be able to use your deck in certain tournaments, and if you keep Laurel in the deck, you can't rest Dancing Wolf to trigger Laurel's effect.

in my personal Rain build, I try to go all-out with stands and Laurel. it's a casual build, since it's not optimal, but it makes for an interesting gambit in the rare cases that I draw everything I need. if you manage to get two miracle beauties, one laurel, and anything that boost rain's power (preferably speed star or anything else that gives a bonus when played) out and your opponent lets Rain hit at the wrong time, you have the potential to attack with her many times, applying trigger power bonuses to her, and resetting your field as long as you check one stand trigger. Rain quickly outpaces everything but perfect guards IF she can keep getting through. Being able to swing with her two or even three times gives you a TON of card advantage in your hand, even if your opponent gets to see everything you draw.

it's fun and silly to be able to even try to pull that off, but it's also incredibly reckless. pulling laurel out and going for more consistent stand-abuse shenanigans with your rearguards would give you more room in your deck for the cards that trigger Rain's ability. I'd put cosmo roar as being a higher-priority card than speedster but, if you decide to pull Laurel out, there's nothing really wrong with having both and covering your bases. speedsters are better for laurel-based shenanigans because they don't have to be rested to activate Rain's ability.

anyways, I think I've rambled enough for now.

He also doesn't specify that you need a Nova Grappler vanguard.

Dancing Wolf in Miracle Beauty/Rain Builds is phenomenal. Honestly one time I managed to restand my full field 4 times in one turn, this I had a 19k Dancing Wolf boosting a miracle Beauty.

I don't really see the point of a 10k booster behind beauty unless your Rain hits a second time for a 12k booster. And at that point, it's overkill and chance based. Even if the 10k is what you shoot for...it's pretty lame. You're probably more likely to be forced to fail retreating your DP due to riding a Wolf than getting a benefit with him vs a 10k.

Does that mean we should take out enigman flow from your rain decklist and run warrior of destiny dai instead? Cause flow doesn't come out at all.

In which case, instead of ripple/wave, would you recommend speedster and... I dunno, cosmic rider? Or would you consider cosmo roar (which can stand again if behind a miracle beauty)?

I do think the Rain Dance list needs to be updated for BT-08, I just have no idea how to go about it. First thing would be replacing the Enigman chain with either Dai or Goyusha, and finding room for Speedstar/Cosmo Roar.

Hell the fuck yes. And replace Enigman G1s with Speedstars and Enigman G2s for Cosmo Roars or that other Speed Star (doesn't matter which).

You mean Cosmic Rider.

Just beware the excess 8k Grade 2s.
