What (little) do you enjoy about the show?

I personally like watching the fights - well, it's more yelling out misplays at the screen, but whatever.

My personal favourite was Aichi vs Ren. Hopeless mistakes from the start, such as blocking Aichi's attack when it would have let Ren use Blaster Dark's skill on the next turn, the idea that Aichi would let that happen WHEN HE'S USED IT HIMSELF, etc.

What I enjoy most is not having to watch it.

Not really much though. It was much more interesting when I didn't have an effing clue about the game.

I'm enjoying the show mainly as its more of a put on in bed before going to sleep type thing, just gives me my little fix of Vanguard. I do dislike the amount of sad moments and the likes.

Oddly i do wish it would focus more on the players opening packs an boxes / trading.

Mostly the characters.

Basically everyone but Kamui was handled really well in the first run of episodes, and even he was understandable since his basic role in the cast was to be the one retarded extrovert on a team of introverts. In season two the writers really have no idea what they're doing, but even then there are nice little touches in terms of payoff from development in season one. If you pay attention to the little details, aside from Aichi getting a confidence booster? Misaki in season two is a lot more open with her feelings- she doesn't really bottle anything up, she participates with the group, she's willing to get cajoled into a pick-up fight with Ren. Hell, she makes a "believe in me who believes in you" speech at one point, and she's the one character I never expected that from- and yet it does kinda fit in context.

That and Ren is just this giant blob of show-stealer every time he shows up on screen.

Derp Ren is probably the best part. That or the shock and awe that comes when Aichi gets Ezel up to insane power just to deal 1 damage and waste a shit ton of counterblast.

The actually good thing about Season 2 is Ren doesn't wear that trenchcoat anymore so we can see his skirt and hosiery.

Misaki's armpits.

Crusher Kyou. The guy is an epic pile of failure and it's beautiful to watch the poor gnat shake his fist at the heavens and declare that THIS TIME, HE WILL BE KING.

Actually that's something that pissed off me and a lot of the rest of us. In Season 1 he was actually a good player who doesn't misplay. He just got shitty hands and sacked by plot armored main characters. In Season 2 they made him a joke punchline.

Fuck this gay earth.

In the current show I like how it's basically card game porn as I cant watch tourny vids for shit. I use just skip the plot shit. I watch an ep and wait for days to play the new cards on BYOND.

That's fair. Due to extenuating circumstances when I was watching the show I sort of saw what happened to him coming. Certainly not in the form that is did (Become world champion by beating Kai by pretending to be a Yeti. Yes this is clearly a good plan), but it didn't disappoint me that they went whole hog with his decent into insanity.

When you put it that way, suddenly every Kyou moment in Season 2 makes sense. He's gone COMPLETELY off his rocker now, so his plans get crazier and by extension dumber and his actual gameplay gets worse because, unless you're Ren or Aichi, going crazy does NOT make you a better player.

Okay, it's not enough to save it, but at least it now makes SOME sense. He's so crazy he forgets common sense. I can buy that.

Or they're just not getting paid enough to care. There's always that option, and it's my own personal theory, but that's from OUTSIDE the fiction. WITHIN it, I have to justify it SOMEHOW, and the being crazy works. I mean, we already saw the beginning of his downward spiral into madness last season, with the whole revenge obsession thing, so it might be plausible that his delusions of grandeur and revenge have REALLY started to get out of hand.

I'm just waiting for the episode where everyone is flying in an airship to have their tournament high above the ocean and Kyou kicks his way inside through a window (possibly dressed like some sort of flying animal), points at one of the competitors and yells 'FIGHT ME!!'

It's coming. Someday. Maybe.

Almost willing to put money that Aichi and the rest of Q4 will be walking around Cray, and Kyou will kick in a door and break out a Tachikaze deck or something. Yes, Kyou is somehow going to be on Cray, and do a B&E into the only house on Cray. Its happening. In 3 Episodes. I can see it now.



Seriously though, he needs to go back to using Spike Bros. :(

Why the long face, Alice?

Well, the last time we saw him he was in space...

Though I thought the Megacolony switch for the purposes of fighting a single guy who NEEDS to attack minimum 3 times in a turn was actually an act of blatant antidecking by Kyou.

I mean, he needs to do something about all those rear guards, and it's not like Kagero exists to be better at it than Megacolony anymore.

Well, honestly speaking, he'll probably be switching to Zeal or something. I mean, he's in space. Dimension Police. Evil/Villain type character. Nuff said.

Yeah but they have one guy for that already and he's really good at it.

Doing two seems too overZealous for the anime. They'll probably change him back to Spike Brothers just in time to shill another new build with a crossride.
