So basically, Bushiroad posted on their CFVG FB page the reason behind the restrictions:

The cards are restricted due to them being overly used, which resulted in an unbalance in the tournament results and environment in Japan. The restriction is implemented as an adjustment to refresh the game environment for the fighters.
As the tournament environment for the English edition Cardfight!! Vanguard is different, we do not intend to implement the same restriction at all.
They way they keep emphasising that they won't implement the restrictions on the English version really makes me hope they took Alice's (and by default, all of V*Mundi) suggestions to heart.
Unlikely, but not impossible! A simple "on your turn" would be enough to tone down the Crossrides to a more manageable level. I shall hold out hope until they the put DOTE up on the CotD, which I am sure they will.

At least Japan had 3 different clans running amok. All we have is 3 different types of Gold Paladin decks.
