| it seems to me that these days, at least where I am on the internet, the term faggot isn't ever really used as a comment on sexuality, but more an insult aimed at one's preening, self-involved, self-important/righteous personality, which is a way I am 100% in support of that specific word being used.
the parlance is also common on 4chan, where fag is used as a suffix to basically categorize a person. newfag, oldfag, thisfag, thatfag, they're all people who are associated with/described by whatever you slapped 'fag' onto. it's an all-inclusive term that's shocking to the uninitiated, but is used without any particular malice or prejudice intended.

- "Fag" is also English slang. Unless I'm mistaken it's a cigarette isn't it?
Which comes from its common root of setting on fire. - AegisCrow wrote:

| I had no idea people felt this way about Brandon. I have to say that it really surprised me. He works at one of the card shops I play at and sold me my first box. It was a messed up sealed box(we only got 3RR and 1RRR and 1SP) so he felt bad and got the manager to give me some free packs. I play with him every week and he has always seemed so humble and helpful. He helps people with their decks, gives good deals on cards, and even gave me his old Bushiroad sleeves. Maybe at real events and tournaments he acts differently. I looked at some of his older posts and don't agree with views on science/math. People who don't understand it will dismiss it, but truthfully years of TCG experience can ingrain much of this math and science into their heads without them knowing. Now don't get me wrong, I'm only saying what I've seen and not dismissing anything you guys have said about him... some people are two-faced | |

you have gravely underestimated how lazy I am. also, @Hawkeye, maybe IF he didn't have so many misplays in his championship matches, and maybe IF he didn't win via critical trigger and then subsequently play it off as pure skill, and maybe IF he didn't post terrible MLB decklists online and try to convince people that he's being genuine while he's telling them to use knight squire allen (ugh), and maybe IF he didn't play such scrubby decks, I might respect him as it is, I feel he's delusional and that his victory went straight to his head. now, that's not to say that I doubt he was a nice person to you--I'm merely of the opinion that, as a public figure and as current world champion of the English format, he's not all that he's chalked up to be.

Just wanna go on official record here: I did not create this thread, nor participate in its actual topic. I dropped off a fact or two and discussed casinos, religion, and etymology. That is all. I have to say this because people keep associating me with every single negative comment ever on my site.

| I didn't really want this keep going. As I said in the first post, he made me feel sick. That wasn't like a slur or anything, I actually felt like I was going to vomit at any time so I created this thread in hopes of relief. | |

| I'm going to lock this. I said what I wanted to say and really don't see this going anywhere positive or useful. | |
