Even if Dual Clans were to be brought into existence, provided they do it carefully, I feel it could work provided they keep it Archetypal for one so you can't just spam any amount of support from either clan into one deck and of course, there would be plenty of issues with Perfect Guards and or Triggers. Though I think everything is going to end up with 3 types of each Trigger anyway with the way things are going. Perfect Guards might work okay with a ruling update of them only working with the Printed Clan or keep the Grade 3 as Single-Clan Units only.

At the moment it's not an idea I'm against unless we end up having crazy ass shit like a Gold/Royal Hybrid which will end up absolute fuck-amazing-most-likely-cancer OR Absolute Shit.

Just checked, and the official stated that though this card can be viewed as an Aqua Force unit, it's still an Etranger. So Maelstrom will -2k when it's on the field and Glory Maelstrom's Leader skill will activate.

Etranger is just a joke lol.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. Bushi will probably rule it so that if there would possibly ever be a clan restriction or negative clan effect, the negative takes priority over anything else. So you can't use a null guard with it, even if one of it's clans is correct because the OTHER isn't. It'll contribute to the new Leader skill, it'll minus -2k from those G3's, etc etc.

To be honest, the only way I reckon dual-clans should actually work, assuming at some point they enter the main game in the way they're doing crossrides (i.e flooding the fuck out of us), then they should be 1 of 2 versions. Etranger/< cards and dual-clan cards from clans in the same nation. So no Kagero/Nova Grapplers for instance.

I think perfect guards would still work actually. The big difference is that it's both simultaneously, so if an effect calls for an Aqua Force it can satisfy its requirements. It's just that if it's looking for a non-Aqua Force, it satisfies the same requirements.

Actually if that's how Bushi is ruling these, that's... pretty clever and makes Leader an actual liability if BT10 is, indeed, hybrid unit focused.

So, let me see if I've got this straight. Hybrid units. Dragonic Overlord is still 11k, Kaiser is 9k as there is a non. Perfect Guards work as it IS a member of the clan. Leader actually matters IF these new cards are good. Heck, it affects the previous Crossrides.

This... is starting to frighten me, as Bushiroad DOES seem to be figuring out how to handle these Crossride thingamajiggers. Of course, that's only if this works. But I do have to say, it's a ballsy move on their part, just as giving everyone Crossrides was. Will this work? Only time will tell my friend. Only time will tell.

Depends on the wording. They might rule it's effect isnt active in the hand and therefore PGS wont work on it. (Which they need to do as a viable over 4 pg deck is insanium in the cranium)

The "Continuous" on the promo appears to be universal, since it has no designation on a specific activation point. I think it's supposed to work wherever the card is, thus allowing you to seamlessly include it in AF decks despite it being an Etranger.

Not sure how insane an over-four PG deck would actually be, to be honest. That's a lot of 6k.

I just assume it's like MtG; if the "negative" of a card would apply it applies. Like Terror, can't kill black or artifact creatures, so that blue/black critter is off limits. I assume it'd be the same for CFV since it just checks if something falls outside the clan, and it's not an either/or on Tethys (at least I think) so stuff that'd have Leader would say fuck that I quit.

That's what I think, too. Bushi will accentuate the negative. Otherwise you could do some pretty crazy stuff.
I just don't understand why they just didn't make it an AQ in the first place, seeing as the dual clan thing is really only viable with actual usable clans.

The only thing the restriction taking priority won't apply, I reckon, is when it comes to triggers. A dual-clan card will allow both clan triggers to be used perfectly fine. Other than that, restrictions abound.

I do think we'll see these more though, if only so Etranger cards will actually see use.

Etranger cards are generally jokes, I think the only reason this one is special is that a) they're potentially teasing for how BT10 or future sets could handle hybrid units, and b) it's a crossover promo with another Bushiroad game and not a property Bushiroad doesn't technically own.

I, personally, am quite interested to see whether or not they'll enter the main game. It'll allow for some interesting mechanics and options. I mean, we could have a single starter that's viable over a larger board or add support to clans that need it twice over with just the one card. Hell, even just for the sake of lore, it'll be a novel sight.

I can already imagine Royals/Golds popping up everywhere given Bushi's proclivity for pumping Paladin support wherever possible. Possibly some Kagero/Narukami and maybe even, God forbid.....

Nubatama/Murakumo. Oh, look now the clan is how it's supposed to be. Although, I understand the splinter, otherwise Nuba's would have wrecked the game sideways but it might be an interesting little thing.
