Deck Building: Singles or Boxes?

Hi, I don't think there is a thread/post that has this kinda topic yet and I was really curious. Is it better to just buy the singles to make a Vanguard deck or buy boxes to make one? As of now, I have bought only the singles to make a clan I really liked but prices are starting to go up and it's really hard to find a good deal anywhere on clans like Aqua Force or Neo Nectar.

Summary: Would it be better to just go out and buy a few boxes than order singles?

If you can find friends to trade/share the box with, or are interested on what most of the box has to offer (and prices are sky-high) get the box. Otherwise, go for singles, buying packs or boxes don't give you the certainty of getting what you need unless you buy a lot of them (and even still...) and will most likely end up losing more money.

Thanks! I guess I should go for the box then since Aqua Force and Neo Nectar are mostly all in Blue Storm Armada.

If you have a decklist of cards you want, it would be better to buy singles. Buying boxes can be expensive because you more than likely need multiple RRR and RR so you'd end up spending more money on boosters and boxes than you would if you just bought them individually.

Usually only single-clan extra boosters are worth buying for building a deck by yourself. Even as of the end of next month, the only two of those that will be in English are both Bermuda Triangle.

Oh! I was thinking of building Bermuda's, too! I hope the new Prism archetype is decent once they come out. As for Aqua Force and Neo Nectar, I think I'll try and find somebody to trade with for Aqua Force. Neo Nectar seems a little more forgiving cost-wise for now. Thanks for the advice!

buy 1 or 2 boxes to to build up a trade binder, then use that to get the cards you need

but if you don't go to locals (like me :P), then i would say stick with the boxes.

The only reason you would buy boxes instead of singles is that any extra cards that you did pull can be converted into trade-bait so you can get the cards you want

Yeah, but if you don't have a local place (or at least somewhere worth driving) to trade with you have to rely on internet trades. Don't get many here as I used to and elsewhere I've had to fight scammers.

Doesn't help though that anything I'm after (Set 8 Tachikaze) most people are holding on to, lol.

I guess i didn't specify, but i meant the extra boosters. Because they have one clan in a neat set, its easier to pull the cards you need.

Now that i look at it, I should agree more with Klaus. Then in that case, if you don't go to locals buy online.

Yes, EBs are an okay choice even if you don't go to locals so long as you want all the builds.

I guess my lack of knowledge is becuase of my lack of experience

My parents don't think i'm old enough and not responsible enough to handle the "large" amounts of money that vanguard requires (as they think)
and because my locals are a 15 minute drive, so there is no way i can get there myself.

Awesome! Thanks! I learned a lot! I might try some Extra Booster for Bermudas once Dazzling Divas come out. I really like what Bushiroad did with making a booster for one clan specifically. I can't wait for Celestial Valkyries but it doens't look like it's going to be released any time soon. And I guess I'll save up and get the singles to make a Neo Nectar deck seeing as the Buster Call deck for Aqua Force is beyond my comfort zone in spending...

Celestial valkyrie will be out 6Sep this year.
and I think you need to plan ahead on what clan you're interested in. if there's like 50% or more of the clan you like in a booster, then it's worth investing. otherwise buy singles....
also, it'd be very beneficial if you can gather a friend or 2 to share the booster cost and divide the cards according to which clan each of you decided.

Ah yeah, I should probably go to locals more often and get into a team or something.
